A customizable NFT minting platform on Solana.
A creator defines the template — layers, customizable regions, royalty splits. The buyer tweaks it. Solana mints it. Both sides win.
01 · The Idea
Templated NFTs that the buyer helps design.
Most NFT collections ship as fixed art. The buyer has no say. Our concept inverts that: the creator uploads a template and defines exactly which regions, colors, and patterns can be modified. The buyer then customizes within those rules and mints their unique piece on-chain.
Think Bored Apes meets a character creator. The creator still controls the brand and earns royalties. The buyer gets a one-of-one piece without needing to be a graphic designer.
02 · How It Works
Three steps from template to mint.
STEP 01
Creator builds
Upload artwork, mark which layers are customizable, set royalty splits.
STEP 02
Buyer customizes
Tweak colors, swap patterns, adjust attributes inside the creator's rules.
STEP 03
Solana mints
The personalized NFT lands on-chain in seconds for cents: royalties intact.
03 · Tech Stack
Web2 × Web3 × Solana.
A familiar web interface for upload, customization, and preview: wired to a Solana smart contract for the actual mint. We chose Solana for two reasons: speed (mints settle in under a second) and cost (transaction fees in fractions of a cent). At the time, NFT culture was rapidly migrating from Ethereum gas wars onto Solana for exactly these reasons.
04 · What's Next
It's not just images.
The hackathon shipped a proof-of-concept around static art, but the same template-and-customize pattern extends naturally to video (creators ship reusable VJ loops, buyers swap colors and audio), music (stems with creator-defined remix bounds), and in-game assets (skin templates that buyers personalize before equip). One concept, many media types.
